Double Stroller

So I don't think there is any way around getting a double stroller. With a 16 month old and newborn, it's going to be a necessity. So, mothers with 2 close in age: tell me what you like and don't like. The newer sit and stand styles (not sure the name) will NOT be an option for us. Holden needs to be buckled in or else he'll run like a wild animal. Also, we don't drive a mini-van (yet). And that wasn't in the plans for anytime soon. We do have good trunk space for a car (Nissan, Maxima). But space for the stroller is something that we have to consider. It's got to fit in the trunk! Any ideas for me out there? Tell me what you like and what you don't like. Nothing fancy please. GRACO is about as fancy as we get. So please help!

The one I used with my girls was Evenflo - I think I just got it at Walmart. It's nothing fancy but did the job and if I remember correctly it fit in my ford focus trunk. It a shame you're parents aren't still down here - I still have mine and my girls have long since outgrown it.

i saw this one at a baby show http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3238413 and liked it but obviously I didn't need it. I would try to find people w/a double stroller and play w/it and put it in your trunk to make sure it fits. If you don't want to spend a hefty price for a new one you might check the consignment sales. There's a yukon one (don't know when) and one on Rockwell and NW Expressway (NE side in the shopping center) or the norman Just Between Friends sale http://norman.jbfsale.com/

I have a Graco double stroller that I bought at Babies R Us. It is the newer one that is a little more costly, but..it folds down 30% smaller than the original double stroller. The first one I bought broke..and I was given a new one in exchange for free! Here's the link:http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3458507

We have side by side strollers and I love them. The one I use the most is like an umbrella stroller, but it's a combi. It turns easily in elevators and is perfect for my kids because they love being able to see each other and we don't have to fight about who sits in front. It folds up easily into a civic trunk-we drove a civic for two years with the boys and could still fit stuff around the stroller. I would not encourage using a double jogger even with a swivel front. Even though they are great strollers they tend to take up more trunk space and don't fit through lots of store doors.

Hope this helps!

It has been a long time since I needed a stroller but I do have a baby bed in my attic if you need to borrow one.

I have the combi double, not the side by side one. THe good thing about this stroller is that it's light (for a double) and folds and unfolds super easy. When there are no kids in it (when does that ever happen) it turns and steers really easy, but the second I put my kids in it, it's the BIGGEST pain to steer. I am always saying "I hate this stroller". Good luck!

We have a Joovy sit and stand, but you can buckle in the child in the back. B had to be buckled for a while when J first came around, but when she got old enough, and cold stay put, she was able to stand or sit without the buckle.

I"m sure you've already made your purchase...but I just wanted to throw in my promo for Phil&Ted's. They're from New Zealand and are GENIUSES when it comes to baby products. We have the Dash buggy and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! It's not a double wide, a bus AND its not dorky, and it just rocks all-around.

Check it out! www.philandteds.com And even if its already a done deal on the stroller, check out their other products. We highly recommend the "Traveller" bed...pack-n-plays are SOOO passe! :)
