Flashback Friday

I'm so glad it's Friday. I am so ready for the weekend! In honor of the start of a new soccer season for our boys, I chose this picture from just 2 years ago. 

Pax was only 3!! And t-ball was a snore. In fact, you can almost hear Jeremy snoring in the picture above. The following year we put him in soccer and he was a rock star. So Holden and Pax have their first soccer practice and game on Saturday, if it isn't rained out. And they will be on the same team this season. Which should be a lot of fun (and convenient). I'm looking forward to watching my boys play a sport together! I'm sure it is just the first of many.

I have a Valentine Themed Friday Flashback today. Apparently I didn't snap a picture in 2009 or last year. So here's what I do have. My how they have grown!

And 2015. I took this picture on Thursday before the younger two headed off to MDO and Holden to his class. 

Every year on Valentine's Day the boys receive a balloon from us and a little chocolate. A simple balloon is a huge hit every single year. And chocolate....well, who doesn't love chocolate. Besides Pax, who doesn't love chocolate. I was a little surprised by being asked out on a date by my sweet Valentine this year. But it was quite a feat nailing down a sitter. So we celebrated with dinner out and a play last night. And tomorrow it'll be the 5 of us and some homemade personal pizzas. Happy Valentine's Day!

Flashback Friday

In honor of a very special date this weekend, I took a phone picture of a day in history I'll never forget. The day that we committed to forever.

Sunday we will celebrate 12 years! Some people say Jeremy looks EXACTLY the same today. Even down to the same hair. It's true. He hasn't changed much in the looks department. But we have both changed and grown up a lot in the past 12 years. Tomorrow we will celebrate with a little date night. And in two weeks we will celebrate with an entire weekend alone, including our very first half marathon. I am so excited!!

Nearly 18 months ago we were introduced to Abraham Malachi. This picture was taken minutes after he was placed in my arms and I had dried up my tears. Our hearts nearly burst that day. I can't even believe that I'm planning this little guy's 2nd birthday party. How is it possible?!

This little guy sure has grown up. Pax at 9 months. Easy, content and happy little guy at this stage in his life. Remembering back, that was a crazy season for us. But I would repeat it all in a heartbeat.

Since I am pretty terrible at regularly updating this blog, I have decided to attempt a weekly "Flashback Friday" picture. Hopefully I'll at least squeeze in one post a week, even if it is nothing current.

I'm starting with a picture of our oldest. In some ways, this feels like ages ago. Really it does. So this is Holden at almost 16 months old. This picture was either taken the day Pax was born or the day after. We had no idea our family was about to grow. And we spent a hot August morning painting with water on our driveway. :)
