Diaper talk.

So I need some advice. Paxton is a bed wetter. Yes, I know he's only 7 months. You see, he wets so much at night (remember he's there for about 12 hours) that it leaks onto the sheets EVERY time. So each morning we have to strip the sheets. And those of you with pillow-type bumpers must know the huge pain that is every day. Well, that was the case UNTIL I had the bright idea to change his diaper before we went to bed. It works okay. We put him down in a dry diaper at 7:30pm and between 10-11pm, whenever we go to bed, we do 1 last diaper change. More often that not he completely sleeps through it. And by morning, he hasn't leaked. But I was annoyed that we had to do this last step. So I went and bought a package of nighttime diapers. I had 2 choices, Pampers and Huggies. For whatever reason, I went with Pampers. 19.99 for 64 diapers. Not a price I love. Guess what, they still leaked. And before you judge my cheap diapers, I will say that he leaked through regular Huggies as well. Believe me when I say it doesn't matter that I use Luvs or something pricey, it just won't hold it all in for 12 hours. Any suggestions for me? Meaning nighttime diapers that will actually work for us? We never had this issue with Holden.

One more thing about diapers. So I tried a couple of diapers from Aldi from a friend. I tried them on Holden and they worked like a charm. So on Monday Paxton and I went to Aldi and he was wearing his very last Luvs diaper. Not a huge concern since Holden is just 1 size above him. I knew if we had an emergency, Paxton could wear his big brother's diapers. So I bought a package of size 3. His normal size. They are supposed to go up to 28 pounds and he is only 20. (I use the term only very loosely.) The brand was called Nanny's stretch something or other. I got them home and opened them and they looked different. Oh no, I thought! And then I realized that they were a little more stiff than I prefer. Not what I remembered about the others. Ugh. And now I can barely wrap those size 3s around my chubby fella. So since I gave a little recommendation for the Aldi diapers - I am now retracting. Maybe it's a different brand in OKC. Very possible. Back to Luvs for my boys. They were only $6 per package (I think 40 diapers). Give them a try if you want. They just didn't work for Paxton.

You should try getting an "Ultimate Crib Sheet" too. You put it on over the regular crib sheet. They snap onto the crib rails and when you need to take it off all you do is unsnap it and through it in the washing maching. No wrestling with the mattress or bumper pads. I have a friend who keeps to Ultimate Crib sheets on her little girls bed. EASY changing!

We have the same issue! I hate changing the sheet all the time, and I have tried an array of diapers as well. Oddly enough, the Walmart, Parents Choice(they have a newer better version recently) haven't been too bad. They are definitely thicker than the name brands, but hold up better at night. Still not perfect, but not changing EVERY morning anymore.

Cooper had this problem, and no one else. I used nighttime huggies and went up a size for the nights. I also eventually just used regular diapers, but always went up a size at night. That's the worst feeling ever to think that your baby is so soaked every night isn't it? Hope this helps and we LOVE Luvs too!

We used Huggies Overnight with Carsten and, when he started leaking, we would go up a size.

We had the same problem with Camryn. I too had the struggle with the bumper EVERY morning to change her sheets. What a pain! Then, we finally found a winner. Huggies Overnight! They work like a charm. Definitely give them a try. Good luck.

Slightly disappointed that I chose Pampers over Huggies. Between the 2, I actually prefer the Huggies. Just a better fit for chubby babies, I think. But apparently I made the wrong decision. My reason was that I was forced to go up a size either way because they only make size 4 and up in the overnights. Pax is still in a size 3. So I was afraid Huggies would be too big in the size 4 since they seem to be extra stretchy. Stupid thought. And now I have 61 over-priced, overnight Pampers that don't work! Oh well! Live and learn.

Wow. What a long sleeper you have! My name is Pattie and I work at Pampers. I wanted to let you know that I'm sorry to see our Pampers diapers didn't meet your son's needs. Babies sometimes need a larger diaper especially at nighttime for the extra absorbency. But it sounds like you might have already tried that. Either way, we stand behind our products and would love to help you. Please feel free to call us at 1-866-586-5654 when you have a chance! Thanks!

We ended up doing Huggies overnights as well. We generally use either Target or cloth diapers, but when Steven went through this stage, we switched to the overnights.

We also had a leakproof pad that my grandmother stole from the hospital one of the times she was in, and it was the perfect size for the crib. It meant that the sheets didn't have to be changed, but it was still a pain.

The other advice we always got was to limit his intake at night, but he needed the last bottle to sleep through the night, and we didn't want to lose that :)

I hope you find something that works!

I don't like Pampers nighttime diapers they're horrible and didn't work. We use Huggies Overnight dipes. Kate is 24 lb or something and we use size 4 but I might go up a size.

Someone else may have said this, but I just put Kate in one of Michael's diapers at night. She wears size 3 during the day, but at night I put her in size 5. It is definitly too big for during the day, but great for the long sleeping time! And I can't even remember the last time she wet the bed since I started doing this.

Hi Melodie, its Megan from HSU (lived with Rachel and Lindsey) I am having / had the exact same problem with my 4.5 month old boy (his twin sis does not have problem). Anyway, I can't even use pampers during the day b/c he wets right through them. I tried many. I found some diapers made by fisher price (babies r us, they aren't as expensive as pampers, but they aren't as cheap as generic). I only use them at night time and they work for us. Logan is still in size 2, but once he is big enough for size 3 they make a night diaper in this brand. Just thought I'd share.

Thomas always wet through at night. I used pampers during the day and loved them, but for nighttime, we used Huggies Overnights. They worked like a charm! Another helpful tip...put a regular maxi in the diaper. Makes it bulky, but absorbs alot!
