At one year, Holden is a busy little boy. He is into EVERYTHING and is into it QUICKLY. He loves to walk while holding our hands, but is not brave enough to take off alone. He can stand on his own for a few seconds, that is until he realizes we have let go of him. He now says, dada and bye bye and burp. I think the word burp came first. Typical boy, right? He says “bur” after he burps. And we laugh every time. He also said mama yesterday. We’ll see if it was just a fluke.
As of now, he still takes a bottle. But miraculously he has decided that, if forced, he can hold it himself. We are trying to say bye bye to the bottle. I don’t think it will be an easy process. And I don’t even want to think about the paci. He only uses it to sleep, but still. All these transitions!
We will go to the doctor tomorrow for Holden’s 1 year vaccinations and then we will know his exact weight and length. I was asked a couple of months ago if he was 18 months. We know he is a big boy, but is he THAT big?! I’m not so sure.
That is our 1 year update. What a blessing this past year has been. We are grateful that God chose us for this little boy! And we can’t imagine our family any other way.
Here are a few pictures from Holden's birthday dinner at Alfredo's.
Check out the post below for birthday party pictures. It was an eventful weekend.
