Tonight Holden tried peas for dinner. And I think he was impressed. What do you think?
(ok. I don’t really make his life that scary. The green light on the camera just STILL freaks him out!)
He is still not completely sold on this new texture of food. He kind of makes this sucking motion with his tongue like he is trying to suck the food down. But that little tongue just gets in my way as I insert the spoon. He does more damage than good with his technique, as that tongue sometimes shoves the food right back out. But I know he will eventually catch on. I made my first 2 batches of baby food. Looking pretty delicious huh? So I now have an icecube tray of peas and one of green beans, which we will try in several days.
Not sure how Jeremy is going to handle all of this baby food. (He doesn’t do well with the textures.) He was in class tonight when I fed Holden the peas. Jeremy has some weird food phobias. It was a little annoying to the cooking wife in the beginning, but I have learned to adjust (and be sneaky!). Even now as he feeds Holden cereal he has this disgusted look on his face the whole time. Jeremy, not Holden. And I know Holden can’t read those looks now . . . but one day when he is 2 . . . and Jeremy is close to spewing his dinner onto the table as Holden is digging into scrumptious mashed potatoes. I mean, babe, get a grip! And yes, you heard me right. Mashed potatoes is on the list of foods that Jeremy won’t touch. Along with milkshakes, sour cream, mayo, cream cheese, ranch dressing (can’t even stand the smell) and countless others. But that is a whole other blog for another day. And here are 2 more cute pictures of Holden's first sweet pea experience.

possibly the cutest thing i've seen all day! laughed out loud! love it!
Can you please not use those Ice Cube trays for the ice for my cokes when we come and visit. Josh wrote this.
Holy cow those are the cutest pictures I have seen in a long time! I especially like the last one where it actually looks like his cute little personality! Thanks for sharing! Isn't it sad how pretty homemade veggies are in comparison to the nasty green ones in the store???
Love this! The last pic is so sweet and the others are so funny!
So about those daddies...our daddy isn't a texture kind of guy, but is SO weird about swallowing medicines...cough syrup, etc. Aren't daddies weird? Seriously...they could have an arm cut off and be like "oh, no big deal." but man, put mashed potatoes or cough syrup in front of them and they're done. I guess as long as they go to work so we don't have to...we'll be alright, huh? : )
That is so cute and my husband hates peas, he is so picky I can relate. These pictures are priceless.
I love the look on his little face! So sweet!
Hi there! Thank you so much for confessing! I have checked in on you before (I'm assuiming through Sarah) and loved reading about your journey with Holden...precious precious name, byt the way!!! ...Anyway, please keep reading and we'll enjoy reading about your sweet family as well!
Holden is soooo cute! I bet you kiss those cheeks a million times a day. As for Jeremy's phobia, I remember making cheesecake (with a lot of cream cheese) on the first night we had you guys over for dinner. I saw you smile at Jeremy, but I think he ate a small piece. The only reason I remember is because I thought, "I could have used a lot less cream cheese!" Poor guy, but oh, so polite!
Holden is so so cute! Loving the peas in ice cube trays.
Hehehe, that is so cute!
