a moment to worship.

I'm going to post the most recent song that has been taking my breath away. In fact, it happened just today in the car. I love these lyrics. Now, I'll admit that I love a lot of music. And mostly for the lyrics. God uses music in some major ways to speak to me and to focus me...which I've always assumed was pretty typical of most believers. That is until we discussed worship with our church small group. I learned that it may not be as typical as I thought. So many lyrics these days speak to my life. Personal stuff: trials, challenges, just (sometimes petty) earthly life stuff. But what I love about this song is that it's all about Him. It gets me excited! I hope to hear it on Sunday. It seems like a perfect celebratory song of Jesus and his ressurection, in my opinion. And one of my all time favorite scriptures when I think about the celebration of Jesus' death and ressurection...
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

I want to be close, close to Your side
So Heaven is real and death is a lie
I want to hear voices of angels above
Singing as one

Hallelujah, holy, holy
God Almighty, the great I AM
Who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the great I AM

I want to be near, near to Your heart
Loving the world and hating the dark
I want to see dry bones living again
Singing as one

Hallelujah, holy, holy
God Almighty, the great I AM
Who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the great I AM

The mountains shake before You. The demons run in fear
At the mention of the name King of Majesty
There is no power in hell
Or any who can stand
Before the power and the presence of the great I AM

Hallelujah, holy, holy
God Almighty, the great I AM
Who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the great I AM
